Recent Happenings
Hi folks. Since I haven't blogged for SO long, I thought I'd post a collection of pictures of what I've been up to lately. Unfortunately, some of the most fun things I've been up to I didn't bring my camera for, mostly because they were things I didn't want to have to think about taking pictures for, like the 70-mile ride I just did. I didn't know what to expect and it was very new for me, so I kind of just wanted to go and focus on just that. But, I think I still have a reasonably interesting collection to present to you! Enjoy!
So this is from Valentines Day - Todd and I rode bikes on the beach and got some pizza by Hermosa Pier. This is before I even got a bike of my own.
Later in February I went snowboarding with some friends. This is me at the top of the lift.
Playing a show at Rusty's Surf Ranch with the band on a rainy, rainy night. This is when Serenity and Will were here to visit!
Later that month, before Mom and Jim's visit, I went on my first Midnight Ride, with about 400+ other cyclists with glo sticks on their bikes. This is me putting glo sticks on my own bike.
This is my friend Woody putting stuff on his bike. I didn't get a picture of Todd, but the three of us soon headed out to the meeting spot about 3 miles away.
This is a stopping point during the ride. I'm in this photo, just to the right of the guy with a white t-shirt and his back to you in the foreground. You can barely see me. I'm wearing a gray hat. But see how many people there were?!
My bike adventures to work as a rookie always ended up in a temporary new-biker tattoo. I was proud of it until I realized you're supposed to keep your leg away from the chain. So it became an accomplishment every day as the marks got less and fewer until I could ride without getting grease all over my leg, haha.
At the next show, on February 22nd, I dropped my bass cabinet on my toe and broke it. This is the first stage of puffing and bruising, ha!
The very beginning of March - I woke up at 6am on a Sunday to walk down the block to try and spot Todd riding by on the Acura Bike Tour race that went through my neighborhood. I spotted him, jumped and yelled and waved, and then he was gone. So he's not in this picture, haha, but you get the idea.
And a later stage of puffing and bruising...

From my south-west-facing window.

Jeff, the drummer, in our practice space setting up his drums.
Me playin' my new bass during practice.
The whole crew practicing. Jeff, the drummer, is behind me. Jason is in the middle, and Brent is to the right.
A random picture Todd took of me passed out at a party. I think it's funny. Wow, that makes it sound like I was totally drunk - but the truth is it was a barbecue and I hadn't had anything to drink - I was just exhausted at the end of one of my full-time weeks.
At a visit to Dad's ...
The bike I ride when I ride with Dad.
And a day at the beach provided for a great photo op. Can you blame me? Teehee!
Todd in the foreground and Rich, a friend from REI, to the right. This is in the 2nd Street tunnel where fixed gear riders were racing for fun one night. We were in line to race but the police came and asked us to leave the tunnel. The race has been done there before but there were just too many people this time.
Northward down the tunnel.
Southward down the tunnel. We had to leave before I got to race. Next time!
And that's it for now! I've had a lot of fun recently but again, have no photos. But maybe you can get a gist of my life in Los Angeles. Did I mention I'M LOVING IT!
Love you guys.
