A thought...

Can you believe you'll soon be seeing wildly different pictures of FLORIDA??!

Or rather, can I believe it??

Hmm.... :)

Hiked up a new mountain today, the Aspen Highlands mountain. Couldn't go all the way to the top because of reconstruction or something, but hiked about 3 hours anyway!

Patch of flowers - they were swaying in the breeze, I got a little movie of it on my camera.

Uh oh -- sitting on top of the lift eating my sandwich, I had to have proof. So peaceful though...ahhh, Colorado......

Here's a little friend I made, Peetie, sitting on my shoe!

That was one well fed bird at the end of our encounter...!

And though this was actually taken the first day they were here (out of order) - this is me at my desk in the projection booth at work. It may be normally a projection booth, but I'll tell you, some people are a little jealous of the fact that I get my own little office like this.... :)

Oh heaven's -- me trying to lick the plate of a molten lava chocolate dessert or something similarly devilish. This was at dinner the last night and Linda and Ginger were kind enough to let me bring my friend Brian along - always supporting the starving artists, so noble!

My day off!!

Well all - I went to work last night from midnight to 1:30am to finish the work that I WOULD have had to do this morning so that I could sleep in until noon and take a REAL day off. I needed it like nothing else - crabby, emotional, no energy, that's no fun. So today I woke up at 11:35am and got up and laced up my hiking boots and hiked up the mountain across the street again, Buttermilk. I like that hike, and I took a different route this time and ended up on a rock looking out down a beautiful valley and the city of Aspen. I ate my sandwich, a green bell pepper, sat and thought for a while, and then I got up and yelled "I love you Aspen!" and turned around and mooned it all. Yes I mean I pulled down my pants and showed the valley my backside. It was quite funny and had me giggling for a while. Now, I was about 1,000 feet up so I doubt anyone saw, but, that wasn't the point of course. I then ran through the meadow on the way back to shortcut to the trail and even did something you'd all hate to know I did - which was climb the ladder up a ski lift because I've always wanted to do that. It wasn't a very high one, I didn't want to be THAT stupid, just kind of stupid and daring. It felt great.

Now I'm getting some laundry done and then I don't know what I'll do with myself. Thought about driving to Glenwood Springs to the vapor caves but today just isn't the day for that. The vapor caves are for days where you absolutely need a break, a long one after work. Today is so good that I'll save my $12 and the gas money to get there for the day that I really need it.

So right now I'm thinking a shower, a visit to the library perhaps, or maybe I can grab a friend or two and play Scrabble at the cafe, I heard there's a board there. Then I WAS thinking of making Won Ton Soup for everyone tonight but it's a little late to get it all together I think. Tomorrow I'm making peach pies with Katie. Oh - and I think I'll compose some more of my clarinet piece because I found a clarinet player (a very good one) from Macedonia even, that will play it and he lives in the apartment across the way.

Okay - there's an update on a wonderful day!

I love and miss you all, truly!

Oh hey! To Linda and Ginger, I found a Stephen!! :)

Anyway

A pretty meadow where we sat to watch a brass quintet play for "Music on the Mountain." We took the gondola up and down to get there and enjoyed a nice bottle of wine and a baguette, and a delicious brownie...mmm...

Dipping our feet in on a warm day...

The three of us at Takah Sushi the first night they arrived - yummy!!!

Me in my "blacks" (work clothes) - I'm wearing a PM1D (mixing console) polo shirt and holding a mini Yamaha mag light that Andy brought me from his awesome Yamaha jobbie job. Yes folks, I look this cool all the time, I wasn't trying hard at all in this picture, in fact, this isn't like, the 5th picture I took or anything in order to make sure it looked cool enough - nope, I'm a natural.

Sunday was a beautiful day...

Me in front of the Wheeler Opera House.

Pulled over to stick our feet in the river on the way home - I was about to pull an unsuccessful yoga move...

Andy and I wanted diner food, really bad - hence Denny's! (it's been a while!)

Andy eatin' his eggs.

Pickin' Andy up in Denver, here's a picture we took of downtown on Saturday morning.

Lookin' out

Buttermilk Hike 2: I can see an aspen tree changing colors, peeking over the top of the others...see it?
